Please follow the steps below to complete your tenant application.

  • Apply online

    • Click Here and you will be redirected to the list of our current available properties
      • Find the property you are applying for
      • Click "apply online" on the button within the property listing  
  • Complete the application.
  • Alert your current landlord that we will contact them for references.

Step 3 - Credit & Criminal Background Checks

  • Within 24-48 hours you will receive an e-mail containing information on how to complete your credit and criminal background check.
    •  Complete the application and pay the non-refundable fee.  ($30 per adult)
    •  Unlike when other landlords or lenders retrieve your credit report, our online application lets you be the one to initiate the request for your own file to be sent so it's a 'soft hit' on your history, which doesn't impact your credit.

Step 4 - Acceptance, Deposit & Lease 

  • We will contact you letting you know if your application has been approved or denied.
    •  If approved, we will mail you a lease agreement.
    •  Within 48 hours of approval notification, a lease agreement and security deposit needs to be sent to:
      •  Prime Properties of Iowa, P.O. Box 1375, Ames, IA 50014.  

Step 5 - Move-in to your new home!
